Overview

The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) is seeking a Pediatric and Youth Advisor (PYA) to join their team in Manyara, Tanzania.

The PYA will play a critical role in implementing EGPAF Tanzania’s pediatric and youth strategies.

This position involves providing technical advice, building capacity of facility staff, and integrating comprehensive services for pediatric and youth health, particularly focusing on HIV and TB services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and monitor the implementation of EGPAF’s pediatric and adolescent strategy at the regional level.
  • Coordinate with technical advisors, health facility staff, and local government to address pediatric and youth health issues.
  • Work with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) department to track progress towards targets.
  • Identify and address region-specific issues related to pediatric and youth health, including HIV, TB, and early childhood development.
  • Strengthen child-centered and family care clinic approaches.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, and report on various initiatives and service delivery models.
  • Participate in mentorship programs and facilitate inter-facility learning sessions.
  • Coordinate and report on services for adolescents and young girls, including HIV/AIDS, sexual and reproductive health, and early childhood education.

Qualifications and Experience

  • MD with over 5 years of experience in HIV, TB, and Adolescent and Youth-Friendly Health Services (AYFHS) programming.
  • Advanced degree in Pediatrics, Public Health, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in program management and implementation of pediatric HIV/AIDS programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience dealing with stakeholders and government officials.
  • Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
