Job Summary
(CCECC): The main contractor of standard gauge railway project (SGR) Tabora – Kigoma lot 6. CCECC is seeking to recruit suitably qualified and experienced highly motivated candidates to fill the positions below:
Health & Safety Technicians (3)
Health and Safety Technicians Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicate health and safety requirements to the health and safety manager
- Assist project health and safety manager to develop and implement the project health and safety plan
- Monitor all hazards and minimize project risks
- Utilities the hierarchy of controls for risk management
- Provide advice on health and safety to all workers and identify non-compliance issues
- Determine health and safety legal requirements for the work activity
- Make sure health and procedures are followed
- Coordinated injury management/return to work for injured workers
- Collate and report monthly statistics to management
- Set up and be part of workplace health and safety meetings and programs
- Set up toolbox talks on a regular basis
- Ensure sound health and safety practices at all times
- Conduct incident investigations
- Set up and deliver health and safety inductions
- Conduct inspections to observe conformance with established OSH Plan and determines the effectiveness of elements of the Plan
- Establish contact with subcontractors with the objective of maintaining good relations and coordination of accident prevention activities and compliance with the established health and safety Plan
- Deliver health and safety induction to all employees including subcontractors
Qualifications and Experience
- B. Science in Environmental Science/Engineering/Geography & Environment studies/Diploma or any other related field
- Attended OSHA Course (Nosch 1& 2) & certificate will be an added advantage
- At least 3 years of experience on Rail/Road construction
- Age: under 35 years
- Language ability: in Spoken and written well in English
Other Requirement
- Ability to independently complete various tasks and to excel at writing reports and daily updates.
- The ability to communicate effectively with consultants and employers
- Work Hours: 8
- Experience in Months: 36 Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
