Benjamin Mkapa Hospital, inaugurated on the 13th of October, 2015, and established under the Government Notice No. 453 of 2015, gazetted by the government on the 16th of October, 2015, has a significant purpose.

This establishment was initiated by the 4th term President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, who aimed to create a cutting-edge diagnostic and treatment center in Tanzania by 2015.

The primary goal was to reduce the financial burden on the government by reducing the need to refer patients abroad.

With a bed capacity of 400, Benjamin Mkapa Hospital serves both inpatient and outpatient cases from within Tanzania and abroad.

The hospital offers a comprehensive range of health services, including Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Imaging services such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computerized Tomography Scan (CT scan), Mammography, X-ray, Ultrasound, Angiography, Cath-Lab, Laboratory Services, Surgical Services, and Radiotherapy Services.

General Conditions

4. Certificates from foreign examination bodies for Ordinary or Advanced level education must be verified by The National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA).
5. Professional certificates from foreign Universities and other training institutions should be verified by The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) and National Council for Technical Education (NACTE).
