The Pharmacy Council of Tanzania has recently unveiled an extensive roster comprising 37 esteemed colleges providing comprehensive Pharmacy courses within Tanzania. This list includes a total of four distinguished government colleges, accompanied by an impressive count of 33 highly regarded private institutions.
In Tanzania, the field of pharmacy education has seen significant growth, with a total of 33 private colleges offering courses in this discipline.
However, it is important to note that currently, only 30 of these colleges have received official recognition and certification from the Tanzania Pharmacy Council to teach this course, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of education and training.
Regrettably, three colleges are yet to obtain this certification, and efforts are underway to address this situation in order to ensure that all pharmacy education institutions meet the required standards and provide quality education to aspiring pharmacists.
These colleges are Paradigms Pharmacy College in Dar es Salaam, Musoma Utalii College in Tabora, and St. Francis University of Health and Allied Science in Ifakara.
Even though these colleges are not officially recognized yet, they have the potential to be approved in the future. Paradigms Pharmacy College in Dar es Salaam wants to contribute to pharmacy education. Similarly, Musoma Utalii College in Tabora and St. Francis University of Health and Allied Science in Ifakara also want to train skilled pharmacists and make valuable contributions to healthcare.
While their official recognition is still pending, these three colleges would enhance the pharmacy education in Tanzania. Their commitment to providing quality education and producing capable professionals shows their potential to become authorized institutions for teaching pharmacy in the country.
