Dental Surgeon Level I
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must have a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from government-recognized universities, completed a minimum of twelve months of internship, and obtained registration from the Medical Council of Tanganyika.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform all medical duties related to oral and dental diseases in the hospital.
- Provide and manage oral and dental health education.
- Improve oral and dental health in the working area and the community.
- Fill/repair teeth, perform surgeries, create dental prosthetics, and perform orthodontic procedures.
- Supervise subordinates.
- Investigate, monitor, and prevent disease outbreaks.
- Teach students in health colleges within the working area.
- Conduct research, distribute findings, and prepare strategies to enhance the quality of the profession.
- Prepare healthcare budget plans and estimates for oral and dental services.
- Participate in medical audit and quality improvement. Offer outreach services in the district/region.
- Maintain and use statistics as directed in the principles of MTUHA.
- Plan and evaluate oral and dental health services in the working area.
- Conduct research in various oral and dental health areas.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the head of work related to their education, experience, and skills.
Salary: According to government standards (TGHSE).
Other allowances: As per agreement between the Employer and Employee.
Dental Therapist Level II
Qualifications and Experience
Individuals with a three-year diploma in Dental Therapy/Dental Medicine from a government-recognized institution.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identifying and treating common dental diseases.
- Managing the performance of subordinates and performing minor surgeries.
- Participating in the planning and implementation of Basic Health Services.
- Advising and encouraging citizens to contribute to the National Health Insurance Fund.
- Maintaining records of equipment and medical tools.
- Keeping records, preparing, and submitting performance reports.
- Undertaking other tasks assigned by the head of the department.
Salary: According to government scales, i.e., TGHS B.
Other allowances: As per agreements between the employer and the employee.
