Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) aims to be the leading provider of accessible specialized health services in Africa and serves as a healthcare social enterprise and through development programs in the community and the most vulnerable.
Committed to preventing lifelong disabilities wherever possible, CCBRT is also engaged in extensive maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC) activities, including obstetric fistula repairs.
Its recently opened Maternity and Newborn Wing serves as a referral center for high-risk and emergency deliveries in the region of Dar es Salaam and the Eastern Zone of Tanzania.
In order to strengthen our Rehabilitation services, we are looking for a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- As part of CCBRT’s multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, you provide quality Occupational Therapy services (including counseling and education) to CCBRT clients according to CCBRT guidelines and clients’ needs.
- You contribute to the positive experience of clients at CCBRT Rehabilitation Department in all aspects.
- You identify the request for service and the main problem of the clients and prepare and execute an individual rehabilitation plan with goals and interventions.
- Provide Occupational Therapy services and help clients with physical and cognitive conditions take part in daily activities.
- Order, measure, and provide necessary equipment for the clients.
- Be a team player that is punctual, committed, and execute tasks that are to be completed by the team.
- Collaborate closely with the other therapists and staff in the rehabilitation team.
- Ensure administration regarding patients is completed as per CCBRT guidelines and systems.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma of Occupational Therapy or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Licensed Occupational Therapist who is allowed to practice by the Medical Council of Tanganyika
- A member of the Association of Occupational Therapists in Tanzania
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist with an excellent track record
- Computer literate
- Good presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both English and Swahili)
- A proactive attitude and eagerness to work
