Acting Chief Medical Officer Mtwara Regional Referral Hospital – Ligula welcomes applications for voluntary positions of Assistant Nurse Officer, Assistant Environmental Health Officer II, and Driver:

1. Assistant Nurse Officer – (6 positions)

Applicant Qualifications:

• Applicants with a Diploma in Nursing from a government-recognized institution, registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Tanzania.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Providing nursing services.
• Collecting essential health statistics.
• Directing subordinate nurses.
• Educating patients and communities on their health issues.
• Providing preventive and reproductive health services.
• Performing other duties assigned by the supervisor related to their education, experience, and skills.

2. Driver – (1 Position)

Applicant Qualifications:

• Minimum of Form IV certificate, possessing a valid E or C1 driving license.
• Completion of basic driving training from a recognized government institution (VETA or equivalent).
• Three years of accident-free driving experience and a Grade II Mechanics Test Certificate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspecting the vehicle before and after trips to ensure safety.
• Transporting employees to various work-related locations.
• Conducting minor vehicle repairs.
• Collecting and distributing various documents.
• Recording all trips in the Log Book.
• Maintaining vehicle cleanliness.
• Performing other duties as instructed by the supervisor.

3. Assistant Environmental Health Officer Grade II – (1 Positions)

Applicant Qualifications:

• Graduates with a Form IV or Form VI certificate and a three-year Diploma in Environmental Health Sciences from a government-recognized institution. (Degree holders will be given priority)
• Registration with the Environmental Health Professionals Board.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Controlling and preventing disease outbreaks.
• Combating disease-carrying insects and animals.
• Supervising the burial of unidentified and infectious disease-related corpses.
• Compiling various environmental health reports at the ward level and submitting them to the relevant authorities.
• Collecting and analyzing environmental health statistics at the ward level and providing feedback for appropriate action.
• Providing environmental health education to communities.
• Inspecting food preparation environments to ensure community safety and health.
• Enforcing environmental health laws at the ward level and assisting communities in creating local regulations.
• Encouraging communities to improve water sources and environmental cleanliness.
• Promoting primary healthcare services at the ward level.
• Performing other duties assigned by the supervisor related to their education, experience, and skills.

General Requirements for Applicants

• Tanzanian citizenship.
• Birth certificate.
• Comprehensive CV with reliable contact information and three reliable referees.
• Copies of academic certificates, details, and copies of Form IV and Form VI certificates for those who have reached that level, and certificates of completion for various training programs relevant to the job requirements.
