Management and Development for Health (MDH) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to addressing public health priorities in Tanzania and globally.

MDH focuses on communicable diseases like HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, and Child health (RMNCH), Nutrition, Non-Communicable Diseases, and Health System Strengthening. MDH collaborates with local and global institutions, governmental bodies, donor agencies, academic institutions, and civil society organizations.

Position Details:

• Job Title: ART Nurse (05 Posts)
• Location: Ngara, Bukoba & Karagwe Districts Councils in the Kagera region
• Reports to: Facility in-charge

Duties and Responsibilities

• Counseling patients on HIV diagnosis, medication management, clinic visits adherence, psychosocial issues, and basic health self-care.
• Educating family members and caregivers for secondary prevention of HIV infection and improving patient care.
• Providing comprehensive education to patients on HIV disease, treatment management, prevention, and health lifestyles.
• Ensuring patients receive appropriate clinical care during clinic visits, including physician examination and laboratory tests.
• Adhering to nursing ethics such as punctuality and cleanliness.
• Accurate documentation of patient information and encounters.
• Assisting patients in accessing other resources through referral networks.
• Supporting physicians in clinical care provision.
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in HIV/AIDS care and treatment.
• Valid nursing license.
• Proficiency in Swahili and English (written and oral).
• Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Internet).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently or in a team.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
