Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collecting specimen/samples from patients for medical examination.
  • Designing and conducting clinical laboratory tests/examination of collected samples.
  • Ensuring proper storage of clinical laboratory samples, reagents, and other chemicals.
  • Maintaining updated and accurate records of samples, ongoing laboratory experiments, and investigation results.
  • Ensuring proper upkeep and safety of samples, reagents, equipment, and other laboratory supplies.
  • Ensuring proper disposal of clinical laboratory wastes.
  • Ensuring proper functionality of laboratory machines and equipment.
  • Performing minor repairs and maintenance of clinical laboratory equipment and facilities.
  • Implementing best practices in areas of work specialization.
  • Complying with laboratory policies and OSHA regulations related to safety, cleanliness, and infection control.
  • Preparing periodic clinical laboratory reports.
  • Participating in planning, budgeting for, and implementing dispensary activities.

Qualifications and Experience

Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science from a recognized institution and must be registered by the Health Laboratory Practitioners’ Council (HLPC). Age limit: Not above 25 years.

2. Conservation Ranger III – Nursing – (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administering prescribed medications and treatments to patients.
  • Preparing equipment and assisting medical practitioners during treatment and examination of patients.
  • Clarifying procedures and treatments to patients to gain cooperation, understanding, and alleviate apprehension.
  • Reassuring patients.
  • Observing and assessing patient condition and reactions to detect deviations from normal and notifying the supervisor.
  • Documenting nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients.
  • Undertaking patient education plans according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by physicians including patient and family instruction.
  • Implementing best practices in areas of work specialization.
  • Providing maternal and paternal health education on family planning and safe motherhood to the parks and neighboring communities.
  • Conducting Reproductive Child Health (RCH) care and family planning services in the park community.
  • Providing primary health education on nutrition, sanitation, and vaccination.
  • Participating in ensuring continuous quality improvement of dispensary services.
  • Providing first aid services to the staff and park community.
  • Arranging and participating in first aid training for the staff.
  • Identifying supplies and equipment requirements for the dispensary.
  • Conducting and providing inputs for wellness programs for the staff.
  • Educating and sensitizing people about infectious and non-infectious diseases and securing voluntary counseling and testing (VCT).
  • Maintaining cleanliness and proper disposal of medical waste.
  • Preparing reports for the work performed.
  • Performing other relevant duties as assigned by the superiors.

Qualifications and Experience

Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with a Certificate in Nursing. Must be a licensed and Enrolled Nurse (EN) by the Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council (TNMC). Age limit: Not above 25 years.
