Job Vacancy: Academic Staff (Tutor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Clinical Medicine, and Social Work)

Excellent College of Health and Allied Sciences, an accredited training institution registered by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE), offers Health training programs, Social Work, and Community Development courses at its campuses in Dar es Salaam, Kibaha-Pwani, and Mwanza.

We are currently seeking Tutors for Pharmaceutical Sciences, Clinical Medicine, and Social Work courses.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Communicate clearly, correctly, and effectively with the college community.
• Prepare and provide tutorial notes to students for the mentioned positions.
• Provide tests, assignments, practicals, and training to students as required.
• Cooperate with other staff and students during organizational events and issues.
• Maintain discipline among academic staff (tutors), non-academic staff, and all students of Excellent College, promoting faithfulness and a hard-working spirit.
• Attend faculty and supportive staff meetings for the Pharmaceutical Sciences and Clinical Medicine Courses department.
• Maintain communication with professional regulatory authorities such as the Pharmacy Council, Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council, Tanzania Health Laboratory Practitioners Council, Medical Council of Tanganyika, National Council for Technical Education, and the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly, and Children.
• Act as the examination officer for the Pharmaceutical Sciences and Clinical Medicine Courses department.
• Effectively plan student schedules and manage student attendance timings.
• Provide academic, career, and personal guidance and counseling to prospective, new, and continuing students.
• Work with students to develop comprehensive educational plans and conduct workshops.
• Coordinate the implementation of the Student Success plan, including admissions, assessment, orientations, counseling, and follow-up components.
• Attend to any other duties assigned by the Head of the Medical School/Health department.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Pharmacy, Medical Doctor, or any other relevant training.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Medical Schools/Health Training Institutions (experienced applicants will be given preference).
• Outgoing and pleasant personality, positive service attitude, and enjoys interacting with people.
• Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and stay focused on assigned priorities, work independently to meet internal and external deadlines, and provide consistently high-quality service.
• Able to handle stress and work pressure in a demanding work environment.
• Highly organized, strategic, visionary, results-oriented, and flexible.
• Ability to multitask and meet changing deadlines.
• Solid critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with the ability to independently assess available information, draw conclusions and understandings, and effectively present such conclusions to others.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to listen critically and interact with individuals at all levels of the college.
• Ability to manage and administer student inquiries, manage fees and bank accounts, class timetables, student welfare, and account handling.
• Proficiency in technology, including Excel, Word, automated accounting software, and business intelligence cubes.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute in a team environment and provide customer service in a decentralized organization.
• Demonstrated ability to show initiative, exercise judgment, and adapt to change.
• Knowledge of Medical Sciences, research, consultation, project management, and cultural awareness.
• Skills in customer focus, building trust, communication, critical thinking, and influencing.

Salary
