12 Jobs for Various Healthcare Professionals at Ministry of Defense

Secretary of the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat on behalf of the Ministry of Defense and National Service and the Prisons Department invites job applications from Tanzanians who meet the qualifications and capabilities to fill twelve (12) positions as specified in this announcement.

The Ministry of Defense and National Service was officially established in 1995. Prior to that, between 1972 and 1989, its responsibilities were handled by the Office of the Vice President.

From 1989 to 1995, the ministry fell under the Office of the President. Before the Tanganyika and Zanzibar Union, it was known as the Ministry of Defense and Foreign Affairs.

The ministry is tasked with safeguarding the State Sovereignty and National Interest against internal and external threats.

General Conditions

  • Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged not more than 45 years, except for those currently employed.
  • Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply, specifying their disability for information and preparation purposes for the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat.
  • Applicants should attach their birth certificates.
  • Applicants already working in the public service but seeking to change cadres must route their applications through their employers, who must verify accordingly.
  • Applicants must provide comprehensive personal details (Detailed CV) with reliable contact information and names of three referees.
  • Applications must include certified academic certificates, Computer Certificate for Form IV and VI exams, professional certificates, and active work licenses. Testimonials, provisional results, or statements of results for Form IV and VI will not be accepted.
  • Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified and endorsed by relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE).
  • Retired public servants are not eligible to apply unless authorized by the Chief Secretary.
  • Applicants currently employed in the public service in entry-level positions should not apply, following instructions in Circular No. CAC. 45/257/01/D/140 dated November 30, 2010.
  • Submission of forged information and qualifications will result in legal action.
